Make this Christmas Amazing ! ! !
While driving back from putting my sister on an airplane back to sunny California I feel so grateful for the amazing Indian Summer that we’ve had this year. It seemed that last winter just went on and on. Someplace last month someone posted, “Only 5 months until April, LoL.” Well I’ve ‘borrowed” this and have been telling everyone, “Remember there are only 4 months until April.” But on my way home from the airport I remembered going to a seminar in December of 2008.
That December I received an invitation from Brandon Bays to participate in the Manifesting Abundance Journey Retreat in New Jersey. At first I thought, “there is no way I can participate in this event, I don't have either enough time or enough money.” I was not feeling very abundant. But then the times also seemed so magical that I thought to my self, “why limit myself, I’m going to just be open to the abundance of the universe.”
A week after the invitation, my physiological psychology class canceled for a week so the professor could attend a conference and then my credit card made and error and put $600 into my account. I called them and tried to straiten out the situation but they said, that they were right and the money was mine.
Now I had the money and the time, just goes to show you what can happen when you’re open to the universe.
On a dark Friday morning in December with an inch of snow on the ground at about 5:00AM I started off toward New Jersey. As I got onto the I-80 in PA it began to snow, think blizzard. The only other vehicles on the road were these Gi-normous semi-trucks The further I drove the worse the roads got and I was surrounded by trucks. My car was slip-sliding and I was really getting nervous when a voice, actually a though (thinking is either seeing pictures or self talk) popped into my mind, “How can I stay present and focused in this moment? What is these are my last moments on earth? How can I stay present in ‘THIS’ moment?”
I immediately calmed down after a deep breath or two, relaxed and actually enjoyed the drive. About 30 minutes later I pulled into a truck stop to take a “rest” and when I came out to participate in one of the most glorious sunrises.
December with all of the holidays, parties and minimum sunlight is quite a stressful time of year. As we approach this holiday season with all of it’s hustle and bustle, remember to stay present in this very moment where the true joy of the holidays is, take some deep breaths and be grateful, and enjoy.
A once (and future) meditator tries the relaxation response for stress
In the early 1970s, when Dr. Herbert Benson was defining and testing the techniques he presented to the world in his revolutionary book, The Relaxation Response, I was a hippie teenager learning transcendental meditation (TM). Flash forward about 40 years and I’m sitting in an amphitheater packed with a few hundred medical students, faculty, and staffers from Harvard Medical School listening to the iconic director emeritus of the Benson-Henry Institute explain the myriad benefits of the relaxation response.
The relaxation response is a self-induced quieting of brain activity. It leads to a body-wide slowdown and a feeling of well-being that have measurably positive effects on disorders caused by stress or made worse by it, including high blood pressure, abnormal heart rhythms, and many digestive disorders. As Dr. Benson describes in Stress Management, a new Special Health Report from Harvard Medical School, the relaxation response may even change how our genes express themselves.
Achieving the relaxation response might seem too simple to be effective, but it works: Sit in a quiet place with your eyes closed. Relax your muscles and silently repeat a word, phrase, sound, or short prayer of your choosing over and over. When stray thoughts interfere (as they will), let them come and go and return to your word, phrase, or sound. Dr. Benson quipped that he chose “one” as the repetitive word for use in The Relaxation Response because the Harvard Medical School students he enrolled back then as study subjects lost count on their way to “ten.”
Then it was our turn. Dr. Benson led the auditorium full of presumably stressed-out people (the Red Sox had lost their final regular-season home game the night before, to name just one minor stressor) in a five-minute exercise to help us . . . . .

Becky Eichhorn "Member" of the Month
Becky was telling me about her first time ever on a jet ski, which happened this past summer. She was so excited to be on a jet ski with her boyfriend & they were riding the waves, each wave more fun than the other than out of nowhere a wave snuck up on them and the next thing she knew she was floating in the lake, water in every direction and the only emotion . . . laughter.
Now this may not seem like a big deal to you, in fact the chances of ending up in the water when jet skiing are quite good. But what makes this story special is that before Becky came to MasterSamNaples-NLP-hypnotherapy.com for the NLP fast phobia cure, she was afraid of water. In fact she even had difficulty driving over bridges. "The thought of being surrounded by water used to terrify me. Now I may consider parasailing, thanks to Sam's hypnotherapy." Said Becky.
Since the phobia cure, Becky has attended the Manifesting Abundance seminar this past summer and has even referred her friend Diane D.
Congratulations Becky, and have fun on the water in only 6 months ;-)
Healthy Food — Faux Vegan Pumpkin Pie
Recipe's like this are just one of the many benefits of spending time on Facebook.
Pie crust — Soak for 8 hours and then drain 2 cups almonds and 1 cup soaked pecans then process the nuts in the food processor until it looks like breadcrumbs.
Then add: 2 tablespoons coconut nectar granules or syrup, ¾ cup coconut butter/oil, 1 tablespoon Vanilla Essence (alcohol Free) and a large pinch of sea salt and process until well mixed and sticky. Then press the mixture firmly into the sides and base of a spring form pan and set for 60 minutes in freezer.
For the filing — In a food processor or blender puree: 1 cup young Thai coconut meat, 1 handful raw, soaked macadamia nuts, 2 cups grated thin fresh carrot ,2 tablespoons Coconut Nectar syrup or granules, ¾ cup coconut butter, pinch ground cardamom, 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, 2 teaspoons ground ginger, ½ teaspoons ground nutmeg, ¼ teaspoon ground cloves, ½ teaspoon Celtic salt adding a little coconut water to help with the consistency. Then fill the pie crust with the mixture and place the in the fridge to set for 45-60 minutes.

In the Thick of It Working from Center
When we are “in the thick of it,” overwhelmed by too many things that need our attention, it’s important to remember that we are never given more than we can handle. When life’s challenges make us question this, our best coping mechanism is to follow the reliable and well-known course to our calm center and anchor ourselves there. It is for these times that we have been practicing regularly, so that our mind, body, and spirit will know how to find the peace within. Even in the midst of seeming chaos, a deep breath can help us turn within to find the space to work from, the calm at the center of the storm.
Tapping into our inner resources we begin again, bringing our focus to the needs of the present moment. Asking “why?” shifts our energy away from the task at hand. We can seek answers to those questions once we get to the other side of the present challenge. For now, we accept what is. Once we have collected scattered energy and created space, inspiration will strike, help will arrive, and what seemed impossible will either become possible or we will find it has become unnecessary. The flow of the universe and its perfect order has room to move in our lives when we get ourselves and our extraneous thoughts out of the way.
After the thick has become thin again, we have the opportunity to learn from the situation with a better idea of our true capabilities. We can now ask ourselves the “why” questions with the goal of fine-tuning our lives. Perhaps we have taken on more than is ours to do or made commitments out of obligation rather than insight. It could just be the ebb and flow and life, or we may be receiving life lessons on a fast track in preparation for something wonderful to come. But when we have a chance to make new choices, we know the best ones are made when we work from center.
Copied from the Daily Om
One of the “fundamental principles of Neuro-Linguistic Programming which is quite different than psychology is that we believe that every person has within themselves the ability to make significant positive changes in their behavior and their life. Or as Tony Robbins framed the concept —
“ALL I NEED IS WITHIN ME NOW.”
I you or any of your friends are loved ones are having issues let MasterSamNaples help you find the resources within you willing and waiting to affect change.

experience what he’s been talking and writing about for decades. I recalled my TM mantra, and after five minutes of quietude and presumably turning on the relaxation response, I felt reenergized and alert.
As enthusiastic as Dr. Benson is about the relaxation response, he’s not fussy about how you achieve it—any technique from any tradition, religious or secular, will do. But you have to do it every day to get the benefits, he emphasized. Therein lay the rub for me: I gradually but inexorably let TM slip out of my daily routine sometime in the 1980s.
“We can’t change the stressors in our lives,” Dr. Benson concluded. “But doing this for 10 to 20 minutes every day will change our reactions to them.”
Convinced, I’m now getting up a little earlier in the morning to squeeze some meditation back into my life.

The Dragon Approaches — 2012
You may have noticed if you follow my posts on Facebook that I’m doing Free semi-monthly group meditations, two in December and two in January.
As the Chinese Year of the Dragon, 2012 approaches it is my sincere belief that all disease is caused when we experience stressful situations and rather than allowing them to come and allowing them to go “like so many clouds in the sky,” we unconsciously hold on to the issue until the associated emotions become stored cellularly which will later manifest themselves as either physical or emotional dis-ease.
The ideal way to handle these issues is through meditation,
where you become still and expansive as you allow what ever is going on in your life to just release.
Doing a Physical Journey process each month will allow you to release these stored repressed cellular energies and to again manifest optimum health.
If you’d like to learn to meditate or release that unconscious something that you feel might be holding you back please contact me about doing a Physical Journey process or come to my free meditations on Sunday’s the 4th and 18th at 9:00 AM at the MasterSamNaples-NLP-hypnotherapy.com offices or just call 330-501-8599 for more information.

If you’re planning on participating on my REGAIN YOUR IDEAL weight or BE FREE of tobacco AND HEALTHY events or if you want to give a gift of hypnosis, NLP or a Spiritual Journey, then drop by and double your buying power.
